Wolves hopeful of closing deal to sign left-back David Moller Wolfe from AZ

Wolverhampton Wanderers are hopeful of closing a deal to signal left-back David Moller Wolfe from Dutch membership AZ.

A deal has not been accomplished, although Wolves are optimistic that a payment of €11.5million (£9.9m) can be sufficient to guarantee the arrival of the 23-year-old.

If completed, a transfer for Wolfe would successfully see him replace Rayan Ait-Nouri in the Wolves squad after the Algerian international joined Manchester City in a €37m switch in June. Wolfe would additionally link up with his Norway teammate Jorgen Strand Larsen, who joined the club completely this summer after spending the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Molineux.

Wolfe was a staple of AZ’s squad last season, recording three goals and eight assists in 47 appearances in all competitions as AZ finished eighth within the Eredivisie and reached the round 16 stage of the Europa League.

After taking part in Bergen Nord and SK Brann in his native Norway, Wolfe joined AZ in 2023 and has featured 92 times for the club.

He made his senior debut in a friendly against the Faroe Islands and has been capped 12 times.

In addition to Strand Larsen’s everlasting transfer, Wolves have seen wingers Fer Lopez and John Arias arrive from Celta Vigo and Fluminense, respectively.

Along with Ait-Nouri on the outgoing front, attacker Matheus Cunha left for Manchester United, whereas Pablo Sarabia joined Qatari membership Al Arabi.
