Among these are Greenland University in Jigawa State, Jimoh Babalola University in Kwara State, Bridget University in Mbaise, Imo State, JEFAP University in Niger State, and Azione Verde University in Imo State.

According to Alausa, 551 pending petitions for the creation of tertiary institutions were passed down to the Tinubu government, which had to follow more stringent approval standards. Nine of the 79 active applications that were still on the list were granted on Wednesday, he said.

The NUC’s inefficiencies caused delays in clearances. Since then, we have implemented changes to expedite these procedures, and today’s approvals are the outcome of reducing this backlog,” the minister stated.
