Nigerian Govt summons Ibom Air crew, Emmasson over airport incident

Juliana Edward, a member of the Ibom Air cabin crew, and Comfort Emmanson, the troubled passenger, have been called by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, or NCAA, for additional inquiry.
This was revealed by Michael Achimugu, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, during a Q&A session at the Emergency National Civil Aviation Security Committee and Stakeholders Meeting on Tuesday in Abuja.
The passenger and the crew member involved had been called for more investigation, Achimugu added, noting that he had spoken with Emmanson earlier in the day.
āThis morning, I had a conversation with Ms. Emmanson. In order to continue our investigation into the incident, we are also inviting the cabin staff of Ibom Air. Tomorrow, they’ll be here,ā he said.
However, he explained that the problem appeared to be fixed throughout the trip; therefore, the captain did not summon security guards when they landed in Lagos.
But the last person to get off the plane was Emmanson, who apparently went to the bathroom after landing.
Achimugu promised that the NCAA is still dedicated to learning the truth about what happened.
In response, Senate Committee on Aviation Chairman Senator Buhari Abdulfatai blamed a widespread lack of discipline among travelers, airport employees, and crew for the increase in misbehavior in the aviation industry.
All cell phones must be fully turned off throughout airplane takeoff and landing, according to a new NCAA regulation.
