Jerry Bruckheimer Suggests Johnny Depp Could Return to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’

Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer has indicated that actor Johnny Depp may be open to reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in a potential sixth installment of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Bruckheimer confirmed he has discussed the possibility with Depp. “If he likes the way the part’s written, I think he would do it. It’s all about what’s on the page, as we all know,” he stated.

The development comes after Disney previously severed ties with Depp amid the highly publicized legal disputes involving actress Amber Heard. Any potential return would require mending the relationship between the actor and the studio.

Depp has long been the central figure of the Pirates series. The five films in which he starred have collectively grossed more than $4.5 billion worldwide, making the franchise one of Disney’s most lucrative live-action properties.

Bruckheimer also confirmed that the script for the next film is nearing completion, raising industry interest in whether Depp will ultimately agree to rejoin the project.

No official announcement has been made by Disney regarding casting or production timelines.
