Gov Zulum pledges support for wounded soldiers, families of fallen heroes

Babagana Umara Zulum, the governor of Borno State, has reiterated the administration’s dedication to aiding injured soldiers and the relatives of law enforcement and military personnel killed during counterinsurgency operations.

Zulum made the commitment on Monday at Government House in Maiduguri while welcoming Mrs. Lilian Christopher Musa, President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association, or DEPOWA.

According to the governor, his administration will keep working with the association to help wounded service members, widows, and orphans of fallen officers. Additionally, he highlighted the difficulties that soldiers have while on duty and emphasized the importance of providing them with opportunities to reconnect with their loved ones.

Zulum promised the troops that the government would continue to support them and thanked them for their sacrifices in bringing stability back to the Northeast.

The governor was previously briefed by Mrs. Musa on the “Thank You Troops” campaign, which honors the sacrifices made by frontline soldiers and supports their families. Additionally, she commended the state administration for helping widows, orphans, and other dependents of slain service members.
