Kim Kardashian Rejects Homework for Her Children, Citing Family and Leisure Time

Kim Kardashian has stated she does not support assigning homework to her children, arguing that after long school hours, students should focus on family, sports, and personal development.

The SKIMS co-founder made the comments during her appearance on Kai Cenat’s “Mafiathon 3” livestream, according to a video posted to X. Kardashian, who has four children, explained her stance on the issue.

“I don’t believe in homework,” she said. “Kids are in school for eight hours a day. When they come home, they need to do sports, have a life, and spend time with their family. I think homework should be left for in school.”

Kardashian is the mother of sons Saint, 9, and Psalm, 6, and daughters North, 12, and Chicago, 7. Her comments add to a broader discussion among educators and parents on the role and value of homework in children’s academic and social development.

Research on homework’s effectiveness remains divided. Some studies suggest homework reinforces learning and discipline, while others highlight the negative impact of excessive assignments on students’ well-being and family life. The debate continues globally, with certain countries reducing or eliminating homework in lower grade levels to prioritize experiential learning and mental health.

Kardashian frequently shares updates about her family on social media. At the end of August, she and her daughter North were seen in Venice for the city’s film festival, while earlier in the summer, she posted photos of a family trip to a lake with her children and relatives.

Her recent remarks on homework reflect ongoing conversations among parents, educators, and policymakers about balancing academic requirements with children’s broader personal development.
