Valencia Man Arrested for Posing as Police Officer to Assault Six Women

A 33-year-old man has been arrested in Valencia, Spain, on allegations of impersonating a police officer and sexually assaulting six women. Authorities confirmed that the incidents occurred over a four-day period between August 15 and 18, 2025.
According to reports from Spanish newspaper Levante, the suspect used an electric scooter to move around the city during the early morning hours, targeting women aged 19 to 28. He allegedly posed as a Civil Guard officer and threatened victims by claiming he had their personal information. He warned them to comply or face legal consequences.
Investigators stated that the man demanded to conduct “full-body searches,” during which he carried out sexual assaults in secluded areas with no bystanders present. One of the victims, identified as a sex worker in the Trinitat district, reported that the suspect threatened her with deportation, claiming to know her immigration status. He also threatened to kill her if she reported the assault.
The assailant reportedly stole personal belongings, including the womanâs underwear and mobile phone, before fleeing the scene. Police later discovered additional items belonging to victims during a search of his residence.
Following multiple victim reports, Valencia Police launched an investigation that led to the suspectâs arrest. He now faces six counts of sexual assault, as well as charges of impersonating a police officer and theft.
The case has raised public concern over the misuse of authority figures’ identities and the vulnerability of women in isolated areas. Police have urged potential victims to come forward and have emphasized that impersonation of law enforcement is a serious crime under Spanish law.
The investigation remains ongoing.
