Lil Nas X Charged with Four Felonies After Los Angeles Incident

Rapper Lil Nas X, whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, has been charged with four felonies following an incident in Los Angeles in which he allegedly assaulted police officers while naked on Ventura Boulevard. Hill pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Authorities reported that the incident occurred early Thursday when officers responded to calls about a nude man in the area. According to police, Hill charged at officers as they approached. A law enforcement source told NBC News that Hill allegedly struck one officer twice in the face. It remains unclear whether Hill was experiencing mental distress or an overdose at the time.

Hill was transported to a hospital after the altercation. He was later accused of battery on a police officer. Court documents filed Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court show Hill faces three counts of battery on a police officer and one count of resisting arrest.

Video obtained by TMZ showed Hill first walking in the street wearing white briefs and cowboy boots, before later appearing nude and barefoot. He was held in custody over the weekend and released Monday on conditional bail set at $75,000.

During the hearing, Hill’s attorney, Christine O’Connor, argued that her client had strong community ties, no prior criminal history, and was not a flight risk. She emphasized that there was no evidence of drug involvement, though she noted that pending test results had not yet been submitted to the court record. O’Connor described Hill’s career as “remarkable,” citing his two Grammy Awards, and called the incident an aberration in his life.

Hill entered a plea of not guilty. His next court hearing is scheduled for September 15. As part of his release conditions, he is required to attend four Narcotics Anonymous meetings each week or enroll in an outpatient narcotics program.

Hill’s father, Robert Stafford, said his son was remorseful and committed to seeking help. “He’s going to get the help that he needs, and just keep him in your prayers,” Stafford said.

The case remains under review as authorities continue their investigation.
