A 48-year-old teacher, Mr. Ezekiel Akano, was discovered dead under unclear circumstances inside a classroom at King’s College, Lagos Island.
According to police sources, the incident occurred on Saturday evening and was reported to the Lagos State Police Command at approximately 7:40 p.m. by the school’s Vice Principal, Mr. Oguniyi Ayodele.
He stated that staff members raised an alarm after discovering Mr. Akano’s body within the school premises at No. 3 Catholic Mission Street.
A team of detectives promptly arrived at the scene, secured the area, and carried out a preliminary assessment. Photographs were taken, and initial findings revealed no visible injuries or signs of foul play.
Mr. Akano, a native of Oyo State, was then transported to Lagos Island Hospital, Odan, where he was confirmed dead on arrival by a medical doctor.
His body has been placed in the hospital’s morgue for preservation, pending an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
The police have assured the public that a thorough investigation is ongoing to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
